Vow of silence

Trudeau's Me to We club had a Vow of Silence on Friday November 19th 2010. We did the Vow of Silence to support children from around the world who can't speak out for their rights. If they do, they'll get punished maybe even killed. These children are living  in poverty or are in child labour.
Our intermediate students, Grade 4-7,  participated and  stayed silent for 2 hours.  It was  hard to stay silent for 2 hours. We wore face  masks that we sold for $2,  and a lot of people  took the Vow of Silence, students and teachers .
It went very well and after school we celebrated. At our school library we all watched a video about children around the world who cannot speak up for themselves. After that we took the masks off and had popcorn and  lollipops. We thought that since it was the Vow of Silence that we would do the We Day Dance silently. We raised $123 in total. That's another brick for our school! We think many more people now know  about children rights in other countries because of the Vow of Silence.
